President Deni embarks on a trip

The President of Puntland, Siciid Cabullaahi Deni, has today in the afternoon embarked on an undisclosed trip abroad, particularly to the countries of Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates, which are close allies of Puntland.

President Deni departed from the Gen. Maxamed Abshir airport in Garoowe and is first heading to the city of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, where, according to reports, he will then proceed to the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

President Deni has frequently undertaken trips with undisclosed purposes that have lasted for some time to the countries of Ethiopia, Kenya, and the Emirates, without any Puntland officials accompanying him.

The trip of President Deni comes at a time when there is a security tension between Puntland and the Federal Government, which is occurring in areas including the city of Gaalkacyo, the capital of the Mudug region.

Puntland stated yesterday that the Federal Government of Somalia has brought weapons into the city of Gaalkacyo, which it indicated is intended to destabilize its regions.
