Sept 19 (Jowhar) - The Turkish government has denied reports circulating on social media and some media outlets, which claimed that Somalia has imposed visa restrictions on Turkish citizens.

The Turkish department responsible for combating misinformation stated that these reports are baseless and intended to mislead the public.

A statement from that department indicated that there have been no changes to the previous conditions between Somalia and Turkey regarding travel and visas.

According to the Turkish government, citizens of both countries are still operating under the existing visa system, with no new restrictions imposed or changes made to the existing conditions.

Turkey also stated that reports claiming Somalia has imposed visa restrictions on Turkish citizens are an attempt to damage the strategic relationship between Somalia and Turkey.

The Turkish misinformation combat department noted that the relationship between the two countries has strengthened in recent years, with both sides having a long-standing partnership.

The Turkish government has urged the public not to believe baseless reports and to rely solely on news and statements issued by the relevant official agencies.
