UNTMIS Welcomes Progress in Somalia’s Government-Opposition Election Talks

Mogadishu (WDN) – The United Nations Transition Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS) has welcomed the progress made in the ongoing political dialogue between Somalia’s Federal Government and opposition leaders, describing the talks as a positive step toward reaching a broad-based agreement on the country’s electoral process.

In a statement, UNTMIS commended the efforts of all parties involved in convening the negotiations, emphasizing the importance of sustained dialogue in achieving a political consensus on Somalia’s future elections.
