The Minister of Information Chaired the Monthly Meeting of Government Agencies' Information Offices

MOGADISHU – The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Abdulfataax Qaasim Maxamuud, chaired the monthly meeting of the Information Offices of the Federal Government of Somalia, which took place at the Prime Minister's Office.

The meeting focused on strengthening the unity of government messages, improving media relations, and accelerating community awareness activities, while also discussing how to enhance cooperation and coordination among government agencies in the field of information.

The meeting specifically analyzed the preparation and dissemination of awareness campaigns related to Somali Independence Days. Participants agreed on the importance of all government agencies conveying unified messages to the public regarding the value of freedom, patriotism, unity, and the history of the Somali liberation struggle.

The spokesperson of the Federal Government of Somalia and Director of Information at the Prime Minister's Office, Mr. Cabdinaasir Axmed Bashiir, explained the importance of this meeting and its role in strengthening cooperation and coordination among the information offices of government agencies. He noted that these meetings contribute to ensuring unified, transparent government messages that effectively reach the Somali people.

Participants at the meeting presented insights and suggestions on how to further strengthen the unity of government messages, data sharing, media cooperation, and enhancing the quality of community awareness. They also emphasized the importance of government agencies operating under a unified communication framework that serves national interests.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Abdulfataax Qaasim Maxamuud, urged government agencies to double their efforts in strengthening community awareness, promoting patriotism, reinforcing the unity of the Somali people, and commemorating the Independence Days.

The Minister also highlighted the importance of preserving, promoting, and utilizing the Mother Tongue, and respecting national symbols, in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia. He pointed out that language, culture, and national symbols are pillars for maintaining the identity, cohesion, and unity of the Somali people.

Finally, the Minister stressed the importance of government agencies and the Somali people uniting to defend national issues, preserve community cohesion, and prevent anything that could harm the unity, coexistence, and common interests of the Somali nation.
