Mogadishu (Caasimada Online) – The Military Court has today sentenced Ex-Soldier Cabdi Aadan Ibraahim, known as “Soddon”, to death by firing squad for the murder of the late Yuusuf Axmed Cabdi, who he is said to have killed.

According to the media, the Chairman of the 1st Degree Court of the CQS, Brigadier General Xasan Cali Nuur Shuute, the court provided sufficient time for the parties involved in the case before issuing the verdict.

Cabdi Aadan Ibraahim “Soddon” was accused of killing the late Yuusuf Axmed Cabdi, who was a citizen working in the construction profession in Faryaamo.

The deceased was riding a Bajaj motorcycle he had rented at the time of his murder, as it was late afternoon and he was returning home from work.

The accused Soddon, who was standing on the road in the Iga-daba-geey neighborhood of Garsabaaleey, stopped the Bajaj that the deceased was riding, and spoke to him in a manner that seemed like an assertion of power, to take him along.

He was told that he could not be taken, as they were not going in the same direction. The accused's response was to halt the Bajaj, then threaten that he was suspicious, and that it needed to be checked.

After a dispute, the accused fired two shots, one hitting the ground while the other struck the abdomen of the late Yuusuf Axmed Cabdi, who was the rider of the motorcycle. The deceased died at that same location. The incident occurred on July 26 of this year, 2026.

The accused, attempting to escape, hid in a tree known in Somali as Cali-garoobka, located not far from the scene of the incident. However, civilians pointed out to the security forces where he was, allowing them to capture him.

After a lengthy investigation, the Office of the Military Prosecutor requested to take up this case, and it was approved on September 16 of this month.

Finally, the Military Court today issued the death sentence, which is the qisas for the late Yuusuf Axmed Cabdi.
