Government Forces Capture Vehicle Carrying Weapons in Karaan

Mogadishu – The security forces of the Federal Government of Somalia have seized a Toyota Qooqan vehicle in the Karaan district of Mogadishu, which is reported to have been carrying a large amount of weapons and ammunition.

The vehicle was initially suspected by the security forces, who then stopped it and conducted an investigation.

After the investigation, it was reported that the vehicle contained 30 AK-47 rifles and 10 rifles known as Dabo-jeex.

Reports from local residents indicate that the vehicle and the seized weapons were taken to the Presidential Palace of Somalia, after being handed over to Maslax, who is the commander of the Presidential Guard.

Other reports suggest that the seized weapons belong to a government official whose name has not been disclosed, with claims that there is a desire to keep his information away from the media.

On the other hand, it has been reported that investigations have begun with the driver of the vehicle to determine where the weapons came from and where they were headed.

The vehicle was seized at the Jiiro-Wacbuudhan intersection in the Karaan district, where it was stopped for several hours. The intersection was later reopened, allowing vehicles and the public to use the road again.

So far, there has been no official statement from the government security agencies providing further details about this incident and the ownership of the seized weapons.
