Watch: What is the relationship between the Lafta-gareen group and Jubbaland?

Kismaayo (Caasimada Online) – The former commander of the Somali Correctional Forces, General Mahad Cabdiraxmaan Aadan (Shub), who gave an interview to Shabelle Tv, discussed sensitive issues regarding the difficult situation in South West and the relationship between the Lafta-gareen group and Jubbaland.

Mahad Cabdiraxmaan, who is a relative of the former president of South West, Cabdicasiis Lafta-gareen, revealed that there is currently a good relationship between them and the senior leaders of Jubbaland, as they are present in areas under that administration, particularly in the Gedo region.

Commander Shub also thanked President Axmed Madoobe and the people of Jubbaland for the support they showed him after the 'attack on' his home located in the Doolow district.

“Protests occurred in Jubbaland, they did not happen in Galmudug, the place where the protests took place and provided me with significant support is the Jubbaland government, there is no district that has distanced itself from this issue, so I am very grateful to Jubbaland,” said Commander Shub.

He further added, “The place where they reached is Doolow, the last place of protest is Afmadow, and I also want to specifically thank the president of Jubbaland.”

On the other hand, he mentioned the situation in South West, stating that they will continue the fight, pledging that they will return to the city of Baydhaba, the capital of the Bay region.

Mahad Cabdiraxmaan Aadan stated that their forces are currently surrounding the city and that they will continue operations to remove opposing sides from the city.

“Our forces are in their area, they are advancing, and we support Baydhaba, we will not leave anywhere, whoever comes will leave,” the commander said at one point.
