The Federal Government and Regional Governments Meet in Mogadishu to Strengthen Security Coordination

MOGADISHU – The Ministry of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia today launched the Security Consultation Conference for both the Federal Government and the regional governments of the country in Mogadishu.

This important conference focuses on strengthening cooperation, coordination, and collaboration among security agencies to unify efforts in ensuring the country's security.

Participants include the Ministers of Security from the regional governments, leaders of federal and regional security agencies, and senior officials from the country's security branches. The conference will specifically examine the overall security situation in Somalia, the development of the national security framework, and the establishment of unified plans to address existing security challenges.

The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), who opened the conference, stated that close cooperation between the Federal Government and the regional governments is a crucial pillar for ensuring security and achieving lasting stability in the country.

Additionally, the Director General of the Ministry of Internal Security, Mr. Mohamed Hassan Shire, mentioned that the conference serves as a strategic platform to unify perspectives and security efforts in the country, aiming to create an interconnected security framework that addresses existing needs.

During the conference, issues such as the country's security situation, the implementation of the national security framework, the development of a new police system, border management, and strengthening cooperation among security agencies at various levels will be discussed.

Finally, the conference is expected to produce practical recommendations and decisions to enhance security cooperation and advance joint efforts to ensure sustainable security, stability, and strong governance throughout the country.
