The Electoral Commission and the Ministry of Women Discuss Women's Quota

The Independent National Electoral Commission and the Ministry of Women and Family Affairs held a meeting today at the Commission's headquarters with the Minister of the Ministry of Women and Family Affairs, Mrs. Khadiija Al-Makhsuumi, and senior officials leading the meeting.

The meeting focused on women's participation in elections, particularly the protection of the women's quota of 30%, and how to ensure the participation of people with special needs in the electoral process.

This meeting, following previous consultations, allowed both sides to reassess the progress made in protecting the women's quota and the participation of people with special needs, while also discussing steps to further strengthen these issues.

Finally, both sides agreed to enhance cooperation between the Commission and the Ministry by establishing a technical committee responsible for coordinating and collaborating on issues that both sides can work together on, in order to further strengthen the progress made in the participation of women and people with special needs in elections.
