The Speaker of the House of the People Issues a Peace Call Regarding the Clan Conflict in Hiiraan Region

The Acting Speaker and First Deputy Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ms. Sacdiya Yaasiin Xaaji Samatar, has issued a peace call regarding the clan conflicts that have resurfaced in parts of the Hiiraan Region, particularly the conflict between neighboring clans in the Jalalaqsi District.

“The tragic war between neighboring clans that has occurred in the Jalalaqsi District of Hiiraan Region is a serious matter that cannot be ignored, and it cannot be silenced. It harms peace, community cohesion, and the future of the local people,” said the Acting Speaker of the House of the People.

Speaker Sacdiya Yaasiin Xaaji Samatar called on all intellectuals, elders, scholars, the administration, and the Hirshabelle community to urgently work towards stopping the conflict and to find a lasting peaceful solution to the ongoing dispute.

“As the leadership of the House of the People, we affirm that we stand by every effort to stop the bloodshed and to strengthen peace and brotherhood among the local people,” she added.

The Acting Speaker and First Deputy Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ms. Sacdiya Yaasiin Xaaji Samatar, finally stated that it is imperative to maintain peace and to stop anything that could lead to further conflict, emphasizing that the common good and coexistence of the community are more important than anything else.
