Iran and Israel Halt Attacks

U.S. media reported that to de-escalate tensions, U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Iran and Israel have halted missile and drone attacks launched the previous night – the first reciprocal strikes since the ceasefire began in early April.

Iran announced on Monday afternoon that it would stop the attacks, but warned that they would resume if Israel took further "aggressive and hostile" actions, including operations in Lebanon.

Israeli media reported that the military would refrain from attacking Iran after U.S. President Donald Trump's request.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the attacks have been halted.

However, he insisted that the Israeli military would continue operations against Hezbollah, which has ties to Iran in Lebanon, and threatened that if Iran "makes a mistake and returns to attack us, we will respond forcefully."

The latest exchange of strikes has heightened fears of a return to conflict, which would further exacerbate the global energy crisis.

These attacks could also hinder ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire between Iran and the U.S. & Israel.
