Further details are emerging about the gunfire between Puntland police and military vehicles reportedly belonging to politician Maxamuud Mashruuc, which occurred at the Bari checkpoint in the city of Garoowe.

The gunfire resulted in injuries to at least two members of Maxamuud Mashruuc's forces, who later retreated, according to eyewitnesses speaking to Horseed Media.

Politician Liibaan Mashruuc's forces have returned to the Carmo district in the Bari region and have taken control of the district checkpoint, which was previously held by security forces affiliated with Puntland.

So far, traffic has not been blocked, although members of his forces have stated that they are waiting for the vehicles carrying Puntland government officials.
