Meeting Discussing the Opening of the Sessions of Both Houses Held in Mogadishu

Jun 22(Jowhar)-The leadership of the Two Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia held a special meeting today at the residence of the Chairman of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia (BJFS). The meeting focused on the preparations and consultations for the opening of the 8th session of the 11th Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia. The leadership of the Two Houses engaged in a deep discussion and analysis regarding the importance of reopening the 8th session, so that the Parliament can continue to fulfill its constitutional obligations. The meeting emphasized the crucial role of the Parliament in advancing statehood, strengthening constitutional institutions, and supporting efforts to achieve peace, stability, and development in the country.

Additionally, the leadership agreed that the official date for the opening of the 8th session will be announced in the coming days, after completing the necessary preparations and ensuring a full quorum from both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

The leadership of the Two Houses expressed their commitment to ensuring that the Parliament efficiently, transparently, and responsibly fulfills its national duties, while also accelerating priority activities for the Somali people during the new session.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary-General of the House of the People of BJFS and the Deputy Secretary-General of the Upper House, who is also the Deputy Secretary of the Upper House of BJFS.
