President Hassan Sheikh arrives in Dhuusmareb

Dhuusamareeb (Caasimada Online) – The President of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and a delegation he is leading arrived today in the city of Dhuusamareeb, the capital of Galgaduud region, where they were warmly welcomed by the new Leader of the Galmudug Regional Government, Mr. Liiban Ahmed Hassan.

Hassan Sheikh is participating in the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected leaders of Galmudug, which will be attended by leaders of the Federal Government, regional state leaders, and other dignitaries from both inside the country and abroad.

The Prime Minister of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre and the Speaker of the House of the People, Abdulqadir Mohamed Nur (Jama) also arrived this morning in Dhuusamareeb to witness the inauguration of the new leadership of Galmudug.

Additionally, it is expected that the ceremony will begin shortly and will also be attended by some of the opposition leaders, indicating that this inauguration has brought together both the ruling party and the opposition with differing views on the country's politics.

On the other hand, the security of the city of Dhuusamareeb has been significantly tightened, with a ban on armed forces not belonging to those specifically responsible for the security of the Galmudug regional government from carrying weapons within the city.

The security measures taken also include inspections of vehicles moving within the city, to monitor the movement of people and vehicles, and to prevent anything that could threaten security.

The arms embargo and vehicle inspections are part of the overall plan to ensure the security of Dhuusamareeb, particularly the administrative center of Galmudug which is hosting the inauguration ceremony.

This event comes at a time when the city of Dhuusamareeb is currently under heightened security, with restrictions placed on the movement of armed forces not assigned to the security of the administrative center.
