President Hassan Sheikh Receives Business Delegates from Italy at the Presidential Palace

MOGADISHU – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today received a delegation of businessmen and investors from Italy at the National Presidential Palace, who participated in a conference in Mogadishu regarding trade and investment cooperation between Somalia and Italy.

This meeting, attended by the Ambassador of the Italian government to Somalia, focused on strengthening economic ties and enhancing business cooperation between the two countries, with the Italian delegation including managers of business companies, large industries, and investors interested in benefiting from the investment opportunities available in Somalia.

President Hassan Sheikh praised the visitors for their trip to the country and noted that Somalia is currently undergoing significant changes in terms of security, economic reconstruction, and creating an environment that encourages international investment, urging them to closely take advantage of the investment opportunities available in the country, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, energy, fisheries, agriculture, industry, and social services.

For their part, the delegation of businessmen and investors from Italy thanked the President for the warm welcome and the opportunity he provided, expressing their interest in taking advantage of the investment and business opportunities available in Somalia, particularly in the emerging markets and ongoing development projects in the country.
