Maxamed Saalax, a soldier in the Somali army, achieved excellent results in the national high school exam.

Sunday, August 16, 2025 {HMC} Maxamed Saalax Cusmaan is a soldier in the national army, part of the 21st division of the Khaalid Bin-waliid battalion. While stationed at the front lines of the war, he sat for the national high school exam and achieved very high results, demonstrating his level of determination and how goals do not conflict but rather support each other.

Saalax is currently defending in the Xarardheere district of the Mudug region and is celebrating his results in the defense areas of the Xarardheere community, which has been inspired by heroes like him, causing them to be hesitant to return to the district they have long been displaced from.

Saalax told us that he was preparing for lessons in defense while taking the exam in his uniform, and he is an example that national defense and educational efforts can go hand in hand, and there are young Somalis committed to defending their country while also building their knowledge.

Congratulations to Saalax and all the students who succeeded in the government exam; we wish them a bright future and further educational achievements.
