Puntland Strengthens Security in Garoowe, Gaalkacyo, and Boosaaso

Puntland has strengthened security in Garoowe, Gaalkacyo, and Boosaaso, with additional troops deployed at checkpoints and entry points to these cities.

This action comes as the council of ministers on Thursday instructed security agencies not to allow federal government troops to cross into Puntland territories.

On the other hand, federal government troops stationed in Puntland have been conducting military movements and preparations in the cities of Gaalkacyo, Garoowe, and Boosaaso in recent days.

Gen. Jimcaale and other officials currently in Mogadishu are planning to arrive in Puntland in the coming days, with reports indicating they are bringing military supplies for the federal troops in Puntland.

The federal government of Somalia recently appointed Gen. Jimcaale Jaamac Takar as the commander of the 54th Division in Garoowe, which is planned to be under the command of the federal troops stationed in Puntland regions.
