Prime Minister Hamza Calls on Graduating Students to Utilize Their Knowledge for the Benefit of Society

Mogadishu, September 21, 2026: The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, participated today in a ceremony where Somali students graduated after completing their higher education at SIMAD University in Mogadishu.

The Prime Minister congratulated the students on their achievement, urging them to utilize the knowledge and skills they have learned for the benefit of the country and the Somali community.

Hamza Abdi Barre also praised SIMAD University, stating that it has played an important role in the development of higher education, research, and producing students with quality knowledge and skills.

“Today, a new door of knowledge has opened for you. If what you have learned conflicts with what you encounter when you step through that door, it is a great problem,” said the Prime Minister.

He added that education should change a person and encourage them to serve their community well with their knowledge.

Prime Minister Hamza also noted that the success of the graduating students is a result of their perseverance, the patience of their parents, and the efforts of their teachers.

The ceremony coincided with a time when universities in the country are increasing opportunities for higher education, with thousands of Somali students graduating from local universities each year.
