SoDMA and UNDP Hold a Meeting in Mogadishu to Prepare the Drought Recovery Strategy

MOGADISHU – The Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) held a consultative meeting in Mogadishu focused on preparing the Drought Recovery and Resilience Strategy.

The meeting was jointly organized by SoDMA and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with representatives from the Federal Government of Somalia and the regional governments participating for two days.

During the meeting, the focus was on recommendations and ideas on how to prepare an effective strategy to strengthen the recovery and resilience of the Somali community affected by drought. The recommendations and ideas that emerged from the meeting will serve as a foundation for preparing the Drought Recovery and Resilience Strategy.

The Deputy Chairperson of SoDMA, Dr. Ahmed Abdi Aadan, praised the participants and partners involved in preparing the strategy, highlighting the importance of collaboration and cooperation among various agencies.
