The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Xamsa Cabdi Barre, has arrived in the city of Dhuusamareeb, the capital of the Galmudug state, where he will stay in the coming days.

The Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by the leader of the Galmudug state, Mr. Axmed Cabdi Kaariye, the Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency, Mr. Mahad Maxamed Salaad, and various segments of the community.

The visit comes at a politically sensitive time in Galmudug, where discussions regarding the upcoming presidential election have intensified in recent months.

President Axmed Cabdi Kaariye, also known as Qoorqoor, has clearly stated his intention to run for office again and has called for an open and competitive electoral process. He also argued that the Federal Government should not interfere in the internal political affairs of the regional administration.

Political observers have closely monitored the situation in Dhuusamareeb amid reports of efforts by members of Villa Somalia to influence the election outcome. However, no official agreements or support for any specific candidate have been announced so far.

Mahad Maxamed Salaad, the Director of the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), who is originally from Galmudug, has also been in the region in recent days. Local media have reported that consultations are ongoing to address the political tensions related to the electoral process.
