Sanbalooshe: The People of Hiiraan Showed Courage and Unity

Friday, 25, Sep 2026, {HMC} Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbalooshe, the former head of the NISA agency, praised the peaceful demonstration held by the people of Hiiraan Region, stating that they showed courage and resilience in defending their rights.

Sanbalooshe mentioned that the demonstration is a manifestation of the people's desires and grievances, specifically praising the members of parliament, politicians, cultural elders, women, youth, and other community sectors who participated in the gathering. “Your voice has reached the Somali people and the rest of the world.

The struggle for rights requires patience, unity, and resilience,” said Abdullahi Sanbalooshe.

He added that the rejection of oppression is a religious and moral obligation, commending the people of Hiiraan for peacefully expressing their stance.

Sanbalooshe concluded his statement: “Yesterday you were not absent; you showed yourselves, people of Hiiraan.”

The Hiiraan Region held a demonstration yesterday against the Hirshabelle elections, with the most influential politicians and intellectuals of the Hiiraan region agreeing that an election without consensus should not take place in Hiiraan.
