Chairman of SoDMA Arrives in Baydhabo, Amid Warnings of Super El Niño Impact

Baydhabo – The Chairman of the Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Maxamuud Macallin Cabdulle, and a delegation he leads have arrived in the city of Baydhabo, the capital of South West Somalia.

The Chairman and his delegation were welcomed in Baydhabo by ministers from the South West State Government, led by the Minister of Relief and Disaster Management, and other officials from the administration.

The visit of the SoDMA Chairman is based on strengthening preparedness and response to humanitarian situations, particularly the preparation for the expected impact of Super El Niño, which could cause heavy rains and flooding.

The visit is also related to strengthening cooperation between SoDMA and the South West State Government, to enhance preparedness and capacity to address emergency situations arising from the rains and floods.

Chairman Maxamuud Macallin Cabdulle thanked the leaders of the South West State Government for the warm welcome they extended to him and his delegation.
