Tension of War Still Prevails in Jalalaqsi District of Hiiraan Region

JALALAQSI – Tension of war is still prevailing in Jalalaqsi district of Hiiraan region, where in recent days two clans residing in the area have been fighting.

Reports from the district indicate that at times gunfire and sporadic battles can be heard, with the conflicting parties using various weapons. The situation remains tense, and there are fears that the fighting could escalate if a quick resolution is not reached.

The Hirshabelle regional government has called on the warring parties to unconditionally cease hostilities and to adhere to peace efforts aimed at resolving the conflict.

Reports suggest that this conflict is rooted in longstanding grievances and clan disputes, which have often led to recurring battles and confrontations in areas of Hiiraan region.

Cultural elders, intellectuals, and local authorities are working together to cool down the tension and to prevent the conflict from spreading further. The local population is also expressing concern about the impact that the fighting could have on security, the daily lives of the people, and the business activities in the district.
