Leader of South West State Aadan Madobe Transfers Chairmanship of the House of the People

Jun 20 (Jowhar) - The Permanent Committee of the House of the People of the Somali Parliament held an extraordinary meeting today at the headquarters of the leadership and committees at Villa Hargeysa, the agenda of which was the transfer of the chairmanship from the former chairman of the House of the People, Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), who was recently elected as the Leader of the South West State.

The Leader of the South West State Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe) officially transferred the chairmanship of the House of the People to the First Deputy Chairperson of the House of the People, Ms. Sacdiya Yaasiin Xaaji Samatar, who will temporarily hold the position of Chairperson of the House of the People until a new chairperson is elected, in accordance with the constitution and the rules of procedure of the House of the People.

Initially, the Second Deputy Chairperson of the House of the People, Mr. Cabdullaahi Cumar Abshirow, who spoke at the meeting, greatly thanked the former chairman of the House of the People for his transparent leadership and the visible role he played in advancing the work of the House during his tenure, noting that Mr. Sheikh Aadan Madoobe played an important role in accelerating legislative activities, enhancing cooperation within the House, and maintaining the order of the House.

For his part, the former chairman of the House of the People of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), thanked the members of the leadership of the House and all the members of the House of the People for their cooperation and support during his tenure as chairman, emphasizing that the achievements made were the result of collaboration, unity, and efforts demonstrated collectively by all members of the House.

Additionally, the First Deputy Chairperson of the House of the People and Acting Chairperson of the House, Ms. Sacdiya Yaasiin Xaaji Samatar, thanked the former chairman of the House of the People for his good work and leadership, praising his efforts in advancing the House of the People and enhancing the role of the House in the country's state-building process.

Ms. Sacdiya Yaasiin Xaaji Samatar also confirmed that the leadership of the House of the People will continue to fulfill its constitutional obligations, while focusing on accelerating legislative activities, oversight, and representation of the Somali people until a new chairperson is elected.

Finally, the former chairman of the House of the People, Mr. Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), handed over the general report of the House of the People, the specific administrative procedures of the House, and the strategic plan to the First Deputy Chairperson of the House, who will continue to hold the position of Chairperson, while a certificate of honor was awarded to the Director of Administration and Finance of the House of the People, Mr. Siciid Maxamed Cadow, who was recognized for his integrity and management of the administration and finances of the House.
