President Hassan Sheikh to Meet with International Community Representatives on Wednesday.

The outgoing President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, is expected to meet on Wednesday with international community representatives in Mogadishu to present his plan for implementing public elections, as debates and disputes regarding the electoral process continue to escalate, involving the federal government, the opposition, and some political stakeholders.

The meeting is expected to include ambassadors and international representatives who recently called for a comprehensive political agreement on the electoral process in Somalia, as the international community has repeatedly emphasized that no single party can unilaterally decide the electoral framework of the country, but rather there needs to be consultation and consensus among all parties.

This meeting will take place amid increasing political and security tensions arising from electoral disputes, with some opposition members and Villa Somalia exchanging political accusations in recent days, while clashes related to the political dispute have occurred in some parts of the country.

On the other hand, the 10th of this month, which falls on Wednesday, is the date set by the Federal Government for the presidential election of the South West State, a move that has sparked new debate, as some politicians and analysts believe that the federal government is trying to align the meeting with the international community and the South West election to demonstrate that its political plan is receiving support and acceptance both domestically and internationally.
