President Hassan Sheikh Launches Somalia Investment Conference

Sept 19 (Jowhar) - The President of the Somali people, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has launched the Somalia Development Investment Conference held in the capital city of Mogadishu, hosted by the Somalia Development and Reconstruction Bank (SDRB).

The conference was attended by officials from Somali government agencies, businesspeople, private sector company managers, and partners supporting Somalia's development, and focused on the opportunities and needs for developmental investment in the country, with particular emphasis on how to transition Somalia from the recovery phase to sustainable economic growth.

The President of the Republic indicated that the Federal Government of Somalia prioritizes sustainable development investment, enhancing domestic production, and strengthening the role of private businesses to create job opportunities and sustainable economic growth.

President Hassan Sheikh noted that the National Vision 2060 is the long-term direction for Somalia to achieve growing and sustainable economic development, which requires strategic investment in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, energy, economic infrastructure, and businesses.
