The Commander of the National Army Chairs the High Committee Meeting on the XDS Strategy

The Commander of the Somali National Army (XDS), Brigadier General Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, today chaired the meeting of the High Committee on the XDS Strategy, which discussed reports and views related to the development, reconstruction, and enhancement of the XDS.

The meeting focused on evaluating the strategic plans of the XDS, with committee members presenting reports and recommendations to strengthen the Army's capabilities and expedite the reconstruction process of the XDS.

This committee, which includes senior officials who played a significant role in the re-establishment and leadership of the XDS following the collapse of the central government, emphasized the importance of implementing developmental plans aimed at enhancing the Army, to ensure a force capable of fulfilling its national duties of defending the country, safeguarding independence, and ensuring the overall security of the nation.

Finally, the Commander of the XDS instructed the committee to further strengthen the work, studies, and strategic recommendations they are undertaking, to ensure the priority goals of building, modernizing, and enhancing the XDS.
