For generations, the Juba and Wabi Shabelle rivers have served as the primary agricultural lifelines of southern Somalia. However, a profound crisis is unfolding along these transboundary waterways. Historically incapacitated by decades of internal conflict, Somalia has been structurally blind to massive environmental and hydro-engineering changes occurring across its borders.
